The 1625nm fiber circulator made in China has 4 ports which can pass the light from port1 to port2, port2 to port3, port3 to port 4. Importantly, the signal cannot be passed from port4 to port1.

The fiber circulator can be used to protect the signal source with high isolation.

From this point, you can treat it as an isolator but it doesn't equal to the isolator. Taking the number of the ports as an example, the isolator has one input and one output but the 4ports circulator has 3 input and 3 output. For this reason, the port 2 and the port 3 of circulators is the input and output, it means that you can input your signal from port 2&port 3 and you can also transmit the optical signal from port 2 & port3.

Secondly, the other signal will input port 2 and output port 3
